This is my first self portrait BUT This painting actually makes me pretty uncomfortable. (Thats art tho) Because it’s kind of demonic and I’m a God fearing woman but hear me out ….

When I made this self portrait back in 2022, this is how i felt people perceived me, At the time. The growth i was enduring was giving me the strength to finally letting go of relationships that weren’t serving me anymore. The people around me didn’t like that too much but hey that’s life. Sometimes you gotta close the door to open a window.

The black represents the darkness of feeling alone. The purple diamond represents the window to my new life. Snakes shed their skin which correlates with rebirth // renewal.
